Hextall didn't fire Hakstol. That was a move Fletcher made. Also the Flyers, with just some minor moves could be a top Metro team next year.

Looks like the comments have that Hextall/Hakstol thing covered. I'll just leave this.

Ok, ok. One more thought. The Flyers making a deal with the Sabres makes zero sense. Carter Hutton is of no use to the Flyers. The Sabres' D is predominantly young. The Sabres aren't going to trade Okposo or Skinner while trying to make the playoffs (and because they have NTC's). Pominville is less than a used puck bag. Eichel is out of the question. There's no return here that makes any sense.

"Namely, San Jose's first round pick in the Jack Hughes Draft. Also, veteran defenseman Nathan Beaulieu (a former first round pick) and energy forward Zemgus Girgensons.

Yes, Beaulieu is going to get you those pieces as is Girgensons...

You are seriously disillusioned way more than anyone can imagine.

Here we go again with idiotic trade scenarios because Buffalo has players everyone wants.. I'd call you a moron but that's an insult to morons.

Flyers are far more then just a couple of minor moves away from being at the top of the metro

How is Hutton of no use to the Flyers? You guys basically have the worst goalies in the league. Other then Hart who has great potential you guys have zilch.

If you say that about Pominville what is Simmonds? Poms only trails him by 3 points.

There’s many returns that make sense.

I don't think so.

The defense is young but getting a year of expereince together. Add in they might actually have a goalie. The forward has depth and should get more pieces if Simmonds is moved with also pieces coming from juniors.

They aren't as far off as you might think.

Yes they are. Suggesting they’d be Metro champs soon with a couple moves is ridiculous.

I’ll even throw a $100 bet out there if you want to take it that the flyers won’t be at the top of the metro for at least 3 seasons.

If my aunt had a sack, she'd be my uncle. We've been saying the same thing in Buffalo for three years now, the names are just different. We still need more talent even with adding Skinner, Dhalin, Mittlestadt, Hutton, etc..... still suck. Over achieved in November. Good luck.

I agree. Some thought theyd be moving up in the division from their finish last year. We're seeing how that turned out

The Flyers need a goalie with NHL bona fides, on his downward slope, who can mentor Hart. That's not Hutton by any stretch.

Pominville is 6 years older than Simmonds. In the last five years Pom has had 2 seasons with 50+ points. Simmonds had 4. Pominville - like Simmonds - is a UFA this summer. There's zero value to the Flyers, even if you were to ignore the first two points here and consider Pominville and Simmonds equal.

My lord, I can't even imagine the thought process it would take to write some of this stuff down.

Why would the flyers what to trade a 2nd line center on a decent contract for that garbage? Why would a team trade a young defensemen for that return?

Seriously the sharks pick in the Jack Hughes draft? The sharks are 2nd in their division, and 13 points up on the two wild card spots. You'll be lucky if that pick is in the top 20. Jack Hughes will already be at his draft after party by the time that pick is being made.

And yet those weren't the biggest problems in this.

If I were Philly, I wouldn't trade Sanheim alone for that awful package Garf put forth. Nevermind adding Couturier, too.

I think that Philly would be more willing to trade Giroux over Couturier. what would it take for Philly to trade him??

I'm not saying they wouldn't trade either of them but the return would have to be significant. Couturier is young and at a very friendly cap hit and Sanheim has tons of potential so...

I bet they'd trade G for a proven #1 D in his prime. Not saying it's going to happen, or that it would be 1-for-1, but that would be the key.

I am more interested in a center for the Sabres. What do you think you would want for Giroux (assuming he waives his NTC) and or Couturier?

Couturier is not going anywhere. Its laughable to suggest otherwise for a myriad of reasons.
